About Mend
Mend was created from Erika Stubbs’ belief that there is a different way to experience care. One that is slower, more personal, and built around the understanding that every person who walks through the door arrives with a different body, a different story, and different needs.
Care that starts with listening. After more than 15 years as a licensed massage therapist, Erika has learned that meaningful bodywork isn’t about following a formula or forcing the body toward a particular outcome. It begins with creating enough safety and trust for someone to soften, and enough space for the body to communicate what it needs.
That philosophy shapes everything at Mend.
Treatments are intentionally paced and guided by the client, with comfort, boundaries, and autonomy at the center of the experience. Rather than rushing from one appointment to the next, Mend creates space to arrive, settle in, and receive care that responds to you in the moment.
Sustainability is part of that same philosophy. Mend takes a thoughtful approach to the products we use, the waste we create, and the rituals we encourage beyond the treatment room. Caring for ourselves and caring for what surrounds us aren’t separate ideas here. They’re part of the same practice.
Meet the Erika Stubbs, LMT
Founder | Owner
Specializes in Facial Massage · Buccal · Abdominal Therapy
Erika Stubbs is a licensed massage therapist with more than 15 years of experience and a background in nursing that continues to inform her thoughtful, client-centered approach to care.
At the heart of her work is a belief in safety, autonomy, and trust. Each session is guided by the person receiving it, with your comfort and boundaries leading the way. Erika’s role is to listen to what you share and to what the body communicates, allowing experience and intuition to shape the treatment as it unfolds.
Her work is slow, thorough, and deeply nurturing, with a fluid rhythm designed to give the nervous system time to settle. Rather than working toward a predetermined outcome, she meets the body where it is, adapting her approach to what feels supportive in that moment.
Erika has a particular interest in facial and jaw work, including tension patterns associated with TMJ, as well as abdominal therapy and techniques that support nervous system regulation. Across all of her work, the intention remains the same: creating enough time and space for the body to unwind at its own pace.
FAQs-
We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your appointment so you have time to settle in before your treatment begins. You’ll be welcomed into our tea lounge with a warm neck wrap and locally blended herbal tea, then invited to select one of our signature Mend aromatherapy blends.
Giving yourself those extra few minutes allows your body and nervous system time to transition out of the day before your treatment begins.
-
We have a firm seven-minute late policy. If you arrive seven or more minutes late, we unfortunately won’t be able to accommodate your appointment and it will be considered a no-show. The full service amount will be charged.
Arriving 15 minutes early is always encouraged so your Mend experience can begin without feeling rushed.
-
No. Mend has transitioned to a zero-deposit booking model, so no deposit is required to reserve your appointment. Your full balance will be charged on the day of your service.
-
Yes. Gratuity is welcomed and can be given directly to your therapist via cash or Venmo.
-
Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you and your therapist. Please refer to our current cancellation policy when booking for the required notice period and any applicable fees.
-
If you’re not sure where to begin, our Holistic Massage is a great starting point. Available in 60, 75, or 90-minute sessions, the treatment is personalized around how your body is feeling and what you need that day.
Our more specialized treatments are designed for specific experiences, including prenatal care, CBD-infused recovery, extended full-body work, teen massage, and shared sessions for two.
-
Not at all. Your therapist will talk with you before your session about how you’re feeling, areas that need attention, sensitivities, and your preferences. Pressure and approach can be adjusted throughout your treatment, and communication is always welcome.
-
Come in whatever feels comfortable. Your therapist will give you privacy to undress to your comfort level before the treatment begins, and professional draping will be used throughout your session.
-
Absolutely. Your comfort and boundaries are always respected, and you can communicate areas you would prefer your therapist to avoid.
Our Two-Hour Full Body Integration Session is the exception. Because this treatment is designed as comprehensive head-to-toe bodywork, it may not be the right fit if you prefer to avoid multiple areas. A shorter massage will usually be better suited to more focused work.
-
We recommend this treatment for experienced massage clients who receive bodywork somewhat regularly and are comfortable with comprehensive full-body treatment, including abdominal massage when appropriate.
If you’re new to massage or haven’t received bodywork within the past 3–4 months, we recommend beginning with a shorter session. Two hours of bodywork can be intensive for both the body and nervous system.
-
Yes. Our Prenatal Massage is a gentle 60-minute treatment available during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Please let your therapist know how far along you are on your client intake form when booking.
-
Buccal massage is an intraoral technique that allows the therapist to work with deeper muscles of the face and jaw from inside the mouth. It can be especially helpful for releasing areas where facial and jaw tension tend to accumulate.
Buccal techniques are incorporated into our Monastery facial treatments alongside lymphatic movement, gua sha, facial cupping, and other restorative techniques.
-
We prioritize thoughtfully selected, toxin-free products that align with Mend’s holistic and sustainability-focused approach. Our signature aromatherapy oils are handcrafted for Mend, and the products used throughout the spa are selected with both your wellbeing and environmental impact in mind.
-
Many of them, yes. Mend’s retail offering was created so that the rituals you experience here don’t necessarily have to end when you leave. Our signature toxin-free Mend aromatherapy oils are available by the ounce, along with a thoughtfully curated selection of sustainable self-care products.
